OUR MATERIALS
At Stormline, we make every effort to ensure all of our products are strong, practical and durable, and the Milford 249 Foul Weather Fishing Jacket is no exception! As well as the many additional features that help to keep you safe and comfortable, the materials we use are also vital to the construction process for our clothing and gear. We use high-quality, heavy-duty PVC for all of our foul weather clothing including jackets and bib & brace pants.
We use PVC in our products as it is durable and strong. Most PVC fabrics are made of a polyester, cotton or nylon backing which is coated with flexible plastic. PVC is a very stable fabric, which makes it perfect for hard work in all kinds of weather conditions and industries, and it is fully waterproof and resistant to a lot of different conditions. The fabric backing helps keep your gear comfortable and breathable as it provides a quick-drying and moisture-wicking layer below the waterproof plastic. PVC can also be layered for extra warmth and is easily cleaned as it actually has antibacterial properties!
The Milford 249 jacket is made from 650gsm PVC, the heaviest and most durable of the fabrics we offer. For ultimate protection from the elements, this is the best possible fabric to choose. We take great care when sourcing our PVC fabrics to ensure we’re getting great quality, meaning the end product is a garment that won’t rip, fray, stick, crack or tear, no matter what kind of conditions you’re facing.

The BEST rain gear out there
My hubby, who is a golf course superintendent, is out in all the weathers! From early spring to late late fall, he's out in it all. He's used helly hanson, carhartt, marks brand, all of them--none of them lasted more than a couple seasons and none kept him 100% dry AND warm. This brand is definitely the BEST quality and BEST for staying totally dry and totally warm. He also ordered the pants in this brand, the fabric is thick and durable and has a kind of soft lining on the rubber. Although he'll not need to order another for a very long time, if we do, we'll defs get stormline again. This one came very fast and the price is fair for the quality and durability. He's easily paid 5-6x these prices for all the other rain suits he's used over the years, where now he will not need another for years and years.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best oilskins!
Working in Maine as a sternman I've had my fair share of weather and rain gear. I've only worn grundens untill my bibs blew a seam. So easy fishing supply only had stormline bibs in stock. I decided to take the risk as options were few. Tell ya what those bibs are a sweet upgrade to the stiff leaky grundens (harvester 17 and brig jacket). I got this jacket to match and now I'm never going back to grundens. Only thing I'd change is hood should overhang forehead more. The guy saying cuffs funnel rain into gloves should spend a second or two and tuck your gloves in. Duh!
Satisfied with my purchase
Fits great, better than I thought it would. Great for out on the boat working. Seems to be made with very good material.
