Pressure washing rain gear needs to tick three important boxes if it’s going to be up to the demands of the job.

It’s not surprise why waterproofing is required. Jet washing is always going to be a wet job, but this doesn’t mean you and your team need to get wet. With the right waterproof clothing, you can stay dry, warm and protected.

What makes our pressure washing rain gear so durable and protective is the material its made from. For many items, we use 500gsm or even 650gsm PVC. This up there with some of the toughest, thickest types of PVC you can get, and we often use a double layer for extra protection.
As you can imagine, this heavy duty PVC is seriously robust. It is 100% waterproof, oil resistant and able to withstand day after day and year after year of heavy use. Yet despite its heavyweight qualities, you’ll be
surprised how comfortable jackets and overalls made from 500gsm PVC are to wear.
It’s important to remember that commercial pressure washing is a pretty powerful and potentially dangerous activity. It involves using extremely high-pressure water spray to remove elements like dirt, mould and paint from hard surfaces. For some commercial pressure washers, the water pressure can reach extreme pressures of up to 30,000 psi.
Although of course you won’t be pointing the power washer directly at yourself or anyone else, the water can bounce back off of surfaces in your direction, which means you will likely be getting wet. There’s also the very likely risk of dirt and other elements removed by the spray heading your way. This debris, along with the water, can be surprisingly powerful. It could cause rips, tears, damage and deterioration to sub-standard clothing, and it could even be dangerous for you.
Ultimately, the job is a very different to home pressure washing, where lower pressure appliances are used to clean the patio. This is why you and your crew need heavy duty workwear that is specifically designed for
this kind of commercial or industrial work. Other clothing simply won’t cut it. Choose the wrong gear and you’ll end up damaging staff morale, and perhaps even putting your employees at risk.
